Early childhood is people who are in the age range between 0 and 6 years, which is the golden age in which cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development is developing. Children today learn through hands-on experience, exploration, and interaction with adults and their environment. Extracurricular activities, which can improve various aspects of intelligence, such as musical intelligence, are one important way to help children develop. The ability of children to recognize, understand, and express musical forms such as rhythm, tone, and melody is known as musical intelligence. Angklung, a simple and interesting traditional musical instrument, can help children develop a knack for tone and the ability to work together in a group. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with the aim of describing in depth the process of implementing angklung extracurricular activities and their role in optimizing early childhood musical intelligence. At Pertiwi Todanan Kindergarten, this research was conducted with students, first-grade teachers, and extracurricular teachers. Data was collected through interviews with teachers, observation of angklung extracurricular activities held once a week, and documentation of activities. Furthermore, qualitative analysis is conducted to identify patterns and meanings related to efforts to improve children's musical intelligence through angklung learning. The results of the study show that angklung as an extracurricular activity improves students' ability to recognize notes and rhythms, as well as increases concentration and cooperation. Therefore, angklung as a learning tool for musical arts has proven to be effective in improving early childhood musical intelligence. Angklung can also be used as a new idea for extracurricular activities in early childhood education institutions.
